Wish us luck
The girls high school basketball team in my town (Northeast R4 Cairo) are in the final 4 of the state playoffs again this year. We won the the state championship in softball for our first ever state championship, and now the same group of girls (basically) are going for the state championship in basketball. We made the final 4 last year, but lost in the semi finals. We are hoping for a different outcome this year as our best player is a senior. The semi finals are Thursday and the finals are Friday. We are ranked number 2 in the state, with a possible match up with undefeated and number 1 meadville in the finals, if we get past a very hot Macks Creek. This is a very big deal for our little town, and these girls have worked so hard to get here. Wish us luck please.

Update
The girls won the semi final game today against Macks Creek, and will play the state championship game tomorrow. They trailed by 12 points with 5 minutes to go and went on a big run to tie the game. It went to 2 overtimes, and Cairo won 68-61. Our leading scorer tied the state final four record with 41 points. We play #4 Delta in the championship who knocked off the #1 team in the state today. Going to be a tough final, but I hope we can pull it out. LET'S GO BEARCATS!!!
