Worst Cars of All Time

I saw some online story today about the "Worst 10 Cars of All Time"...or some such thing. It might have been on MSN.com. Anyway, I was thrilled to see that I (and other members of my family) owned 2 our of the 10! The Chevy Corvair (in my immediate family we owned 4) and the Chevy Vega (we had 2 of those). As I recall, all were fun little cars and we never had any serious trouble with them. In fact, a Corvair with studded snow tires could climb Mt. Everest if you could get it over there! WHo neede AWD when you had a 'vair!

I suppose someone will put the HHR on one of those lists someday. Maybe I better go out and buy a couple more.

I never owned either. I sheepishly admit to owning a Pinto though.

There are no bad cars, only owners who are not in tune with their ride.

I always like the 1st gen Vega as well (the "Camaro style" grille; before the "finned grille").

The Corvair was just a great car. Opposing 6 in the rear, set up like a Porsche. Some used to put them in VW Beetles for more kick.

When i moved to dunedin , Fl. i got a 1962 corvair
In about 1990 that i paid $ 300.00 for because the guy thought it was trashed because of the oil leak, Mint, garage kept , Red .
It was a $3.00 oil sending unit that was leaking . And the car ran like a top, No sync in first gear, sucked. A cool car , I sold it for $2000.00 and did nothing to it.
It was an attention getter though.

I was just checking those out the other day. Slow, but cool. I'd love to have one.

Talking

Had a couple Vegas, my favorite was the 73 wagon, Had crushed velvet curtains I added.. Was my "Love Machine", & especially after I added the 283....

But all the 4 bangers needed was to have the block machined to accept 'press in bore-liners' (like Big Rigs) for the pistons to ride on..

And my Uncle Jack had a Corvair, he let me drive it up in the cemetary.. I was about 13.
