are the headlights "adjustable"? i put a new bulb in and that gets me flashed by oncoming traffic.

They are adjustable, yes. There is a screw on the back side of the housing. This is what you will be looking for.

MeijerLPO beat me to it so I'll just add that if you turn that screw clockwise it raises the beam and if you turn it counterclockwise it will lower the beam. The complete headlight aiming procedure is outlined in your 2009 owners manual; page 5-44 to 5-46.

Trial and Error db/sb I will soon have to be adjusting mine, as I just picked up some new shocks/struts for my HHR and will be lowering it soon!

Fwiw. If you lower it about the same front/back, you shouldn't have to adjust the headlights. The change in the headlights will be almost none.
Now if your headlight aim is off before you lower it,.... then yes you'll need to adjust them.

Odd that changing the bulb would start you getting flashed.

Allow springs to settle, prior to adjustment.. More precise that way.

Kev, since you swapped headlights to depos, yours should be checked reguardless.
