claybar, Mothers or Maguiar's
Polish, Maguiar's ultimate polish
Wax, Maguiar's ultimate spray wax

That's what I prefer and it works!

I've used Turtle wax ICE, wasn't happy was streaky
I've used classic carnuba paste wax, hard to wipe off, shine didn't last.
I've tried Adam's products they were very good.
Up here it Maguiar's products for most of my hot rod buddy's.

zainostore.com I swear by this stuff. No water on my car in over 2 years, only detailer.

I'm a bit late to the party on this, but on my black Mustang I've always used Turtle Wash Color Magic.

I used Simoniz Platinum Spray Wax Detailer, 3 layers, without any polishing, the car looks like brand new. It's an HHR 2007 2.2 LS 98 000 kilo. In a parking lot I compared the shine of my HHR with all the other vehicules (some very well maintained sport vehicules) and the HHR was easily ahead. What can I complain about. I do plan to try some polishing though. I want to go exhibition level.

1. I washed it by hand with a dedicated hand microfiber towel and DAWN ultra 3x lemon scent dish water, rinsed it, and dried it with microfiber towel
2. Rewashed it with Simoniz platinum clay bar + dish water (again Dawn ultra), rinsed it and dried it with microfiber
3. Three layers of Simoniz Platinum following instructions.

Note that the job was done outdoor at about 15-20 celsius, if that means anything to improve results. Semi-cloudy, no wind, comfortable. I want to make sure next time I am going to do it the exact same way (lol).

* Also used ArmoreAll Extreme Rim Cleaner and Simoniz Foam Tire Shine.

Look at that. Anyone tried a mirror effect paste wax?

I am highly interested to try some. I wonder if that can go over an existing wax coat or should I give the hhr a small polishing work prior to using a mirror effect paste wax...

*I don't know if that's better than the Simoniz Platinum wax that I use that I still absolutely love. But if I can go even further with a better product, why not.
