Armor All new wax you have to see this video

Hope this is not a repost.
I use to be a auto body paint, body parts etc. Salesman.
I mainly use meguiars 3m and gliptone products fir exterior maintenance of our show cars
race cars and daily drivers.
I only use meguiars nxt wax.
But I am considering using the NEW
ARMOR ALL EXTREME SHIELD WAX after seeing the video below.
Not sure if you can get the depth that you get out of the meguairs products but it is amazing how well this product CLAIMS to repel dirt and grime.
May even help 0-60 times LOLhttp://extremewax.armorall.com/
You have to see this video.

Looks really slick. Is that the same stuff in the new Tony Stewart commercial?

Funny you mention NXT. I use Mequires as well and just yesterday purchased the NXT to use on my Corvette. How do you like it? Does it hold up well?

I use to only use hand glaze on show cars until meguairs came out with the first class I think it was called then the nxt came out.
Goes on very easily comes off even easier.
Can't really speak fir longevity since I am always using gliptone or meguiars spray in between
applications
But I know a few people who say it lasts much longer than anything they have ever used.
Definitely gives more gloss than any wax I have ever used.

Thanks. I have a couple coats of Gold Class on it now. Think I should take that off before applying the NXT or will putting it over it produce the same results?

I remember in the bodywork days we always told folks to stay away from turtle wax cause if the silicone it had in it but maybe that has changed now a days. If you say this armor all is ok then I will try it. does it cost much more then mothers? that is what I use all around.
Thanks for the info,

Silicone is not a factor any longer. Almost all polishes has some level of silicone in them. Body shops today have ways of cleaning this off if they should need to paint and it is no longer an isuse. This is per Meguires.

As for polishes and waxes. There are several forms of these and each have thier advantages and disadvantages.

The one step cleaner polishes where you apply one thing and let it go is good for the guy who want a shine with water beading and remove stains, bugs and tar. This is not going to be your best finish but you will take care of most issues in one step.

The other is the multi step polish and then wax to seal it. This is more labor but it will give you the longest deepest shine. You can also tune the polish to what your needs are based on condition of the paint or even color.

It still boils down to the fact the more labor intense polish and wax is still the best. Todays one steps have improved greatly like the NXT Gen etc. But be aware some lower quality or older cleaner/wax will have higher levels of petro based cleaners that can damage things like the clear bras and clear headlight shields.

I have not looked at the new Armor All yet but I am sure it is better than the old combo cleaner wax but it will still lack the deeper shine more adaptive qualites of the other multi step waxes.

It just comes down to what works for you. A good shine with less work or a better shine with more work. Also factor in the condition of the paint and what it;s needs are. The Cleaner Waxes will not restore damaged paints.

Repels dirt ? Sound s just like what we need for our dirt sucking tails. I have been using Greiot's paint sealer, works pretty good, with minimum elbow grease.

"Dirt Sucking Tails"...sounds like a Garage Band there Sam.

I've never seen a "dirt repelling" wax really repel dirt, but they do reduce the surface layer adhesion to slow the buildup over time, our HHR's will always vacuum up dust/dirt due to the low pressure vortices we drag along behind us at all times.

Maybe I'll pick some up to try on Michelle's old Honda, its a good Guinea Pig if nothing else. Thanks for the post there Big Jack.

As a professional detailer I'm going to say find a better product. Armor all products are not something I recommend at all. They never live up to the hype. And I've tested A LOT of products!

From the description is sounds like a sealant type product more than a wax. Which bigjacksauto is right that it won't give you that deep wet look that a wax will give you. It's more of a extremely shiny look. Which you could only tell on dark colored vehicles since you really can't tell on light colors.

That being said if your looking for something that is going to repel dirt and water better than a wax, look into a dedicated sealant. I personally use Menzerna Powerlock and Blackfire Wet Diamond. Both are great products with the Menzerna being a little longer with durability.

Just my 2 cents.
