Atf

When should you flush out the old atf? I am assuming they have the sealed setup that most of the new cars are going to where you have to take it to the quick lube?
Thanks

Under Severe service @ 50K, otherwise 100K, But I don't think I would let any quik lube jockeys do this.

Edit: Yes it is a sealed unit, & no dipstick..

How would I do it at home? Of coarse I would drop the pan and change the filter. But where does the new ATF go? Assuming there would have to be a plug to add it. I do have an old electronic fuel pump for fluid transfer. I just went over 100k so figured it would be time.

Thanks

Use the Search tool, there are a few threads about changing the ATF. Yes there is a plug; top of trans driver side (for fill only tho); Level control hole on pass. side (like old fashioned differential). PM me if you need a Shop manual, or go to the local AutoParts store I understand that there is a Haynes book now.

no need to check it since it is sealed.

But if your buying a manual then you aint gotta worry about it.
