brake question yet again

ok did my rear brakes (shoes/drums/hardware) on a 2006 2lt 2.4l with 80k and they were fine for a bit while driving slow, also no squeaks.

then i got on the highway and i noticed a slight squeak. i had a harder stop and there is that shudder again!! i thought the rears were adjusted correctly, slight drag and you can feel them stopping in the seat of you pants. i guess the brake clean took off the dielectric grease that i used or i just did not use it on all of the contacts.

it is a sporatic shudder doesnt happen at slower speeds and doesnt happen when i use the emergency brake to slow down. so my guess not the rotors nor rears.

did a search and someone says it is possibly be just to seat the fuses better?!?!? well guess that i will try that tonight. i was thinking possibly a sticky slave/caliper?? any thoughts??

just saw a similar issue:

the only other question that i guess is about the swingset i have in the car!! the brakes squeak quite a bit. i i wire brushed and put high temp/water proof grease on the backing plate. do i need to do that to more places?

I am a little perplexed over this - what in the world would the fuses have to do with it, let alone the swingset?

regarding the shutter - check out the suggestions in the post that you linked to in your last post.

What do dielectric grease and fuses have to do with brakes?

The hand brake only engages the rear shoe.

While adjusting the rears; did you re center the shoes by stepping on the pedal between clicks?

i was told by a mechanic friend of mine that dielectric grease is high temp and water resistant and works as well on the brakes. so i have been using that instead of anti seize.

i did the hand brake at speed, because mister officer was hiding on the side of the LIE. that way no brake lights. didnt realize that you use it to align the shoes.

That shake could also be the upper engine mount.

hmmm something else to check!! will do so tonight!! THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTION!!

If fixed my brake shake, hiway speeds, just lift the throttle a touch and there it is that shake! I changed out everything, to bad the upper engine mount was one of the last things I changed.

ok i looked at the mount on the upper passenger side and it seems to fit my finger up on top.

so i ordered the set of mounts. hope it cools up here enuff when i get them!!!

THANK YOU!!
