Any pics? I'm curious about the routing and if the pickup point avoids underhood heat.

quick note also: Pretty sure the HHR non-SS has fairly good airflow already, and I can testify that a drop in K&N definitly gave my 09 LT a kick in the pants. Just the shear size of the stock filter beside the K&N drop-in was HILARIOUS. I had a 03 PT Cruiser with the 2.4 (only 150HPstock) and the little 2" stock intake pipe to the fender got chucked and I replaced it with a 3.5" ABS 45 pipe from Home Depot. Anyway, compared to that, the stock pipe and air box on an HHR is way bigger lungs than the PT ever was. Compared to that, not much need on an HHR to open it up even more.

Not true, be careful as a lot of filter companies list the wrong filter for the SS. If they list one that's flat it is wrong. They may think they have the right filter, but they will give you one for the 2.2 or 2.4, not for the 2.0

Just the K&N filter element, not the system with the intake pipes. The factory airbox and cold air (fender well) routing is a pretty good design. By the way, the type of system that just sticks an open element in the hot engine bay is a really bad way to go.

Got that right!
Been there, fought w/ them(auto parts chain stores) over that already. They swear it's the right one, but hand you a flat box

Sorry to bring this thread back but i am now having this issue.

Seems randomly the car will run on stickily motor, -5psi on the vac gauge at WOT and the shift points were out of whack. Dang thing wouldn't even down shift to go up a hill properly (no power AT ALL)

Then i floored it and it now runs fine. This happened once yesterday and once tonight and randomly came back after just running it up the road.

I have the replacement k&n filter which has been on for about 3 weeks now. Where is the sensor that's being affected? Is it the blue MAP sensor from the stage 1 kit on the top of the intake mani?
