Negligible difference, I would think.

I know if my wooly worm kicks, it will be dryer vent time.

A video about replacing that woolly worm with tubing from Spectra. Note how the ends are reused.

Great write up and photos, only wished I'd seen before doing mine today!! I had my wife's 06 LT oil changed and filter and check oil sending unit for leak (Yep!). I asked if they had checked the air filter..I take my cars here for Pennsoil synthetic mix5-30 in Virginia. The mgr looked at me and said "You would have a stroke when you see the labor charge. We learned yrs ago not to do HHRs"
I guess he can't afford to try up his drive thru /pit area to do it. NOW, I know why. Thought of taking a picture of all the tools I used to do the procedure. Looked like never done before, but it's got 113,800 on it and the orange rubber frame of the filter that finally emerged from the box was pretty new. Torsk nuts, however, looked brand new.
I did the cabin filter and air filter at same time .tok over an hour and a half. Now if I could get the broken sunroof wind screen fixed, Im good for the Summer. One member posted a Tube of Weld stuff and swears by it. As I have the end piece little hook-like thing, I'm trying it under supervision of my body/fender painter friend. He's got patience and stronger fingers than my at 78...Jury still out of whether HHR-LT was worth $7k and will it last 3 years That's 200 a month...of course, I never repay myself for a cash buy, but it what I do.

The guys at the tire store ignored me when I told to NOT do their stupid sales booster inspection. You wouldn't believe the damage the mechanic tried to do before I busted through the shop door and yelled at him. I let him go for 10 minutes and he had not gotten the box loose.

The air filter, now you know why I run a K&N washable in the factory air box, clean it once a year!
the people at an oil change place told a friend of mine his filter was clogged and oil, he might need a new engine, they didn’t read the sticker, Do Not Discard , K&N washable filter! They tossed his!

Best to do as much of the stuff one can( if mechanically inclined). Cause so many get the co. shirt with a Tech patch & think they know everything..

What we want to maximize here is the Q, or the volume of air the car receives. Cold air is denser than warm air as well, all dealing with volume of air or "Q".

It took five years of engineering school to learn how to make this complicated air cleaner to reduce the chances that we commoners would attempt to change our air filters.
For some reason they couldn't put those T25 screws on the top of the air box?

I liked those springy clamps on my 93 Pontiac Transport SE ! Hated getting to the back 3 spark plugs and the oil filter!

I had a 1992 Pontiac Transport GT.

What engine did you have? I had the 3800 V6.

Oil filter was replaced through the wheel well behind the tire. Yes, the 3 rear plugs were hard to replace.

The 3800 yes thru the passenger side wheel well , carefully so you don’t break the oil pressure sender unit! If you broke that , the engine won’t run due to no oil pressure. Fun stuff , my wife back then, took it into a quick oil change place , they broke the oil sensor and pushed the van off to the side of the parking lot. I had to wait until the next Wednesday for a replacement part. That taught her a lesson to stay away from those places!
