Cleaner for the seats

Cleaner for the seats

I was first told on getting a HHR that it is almost impossible to find a cleaner for the seats and head liner. Have you found any thing that worked for you?

Which material ? Three different kinds of materials were used depending on model and which seats you have.
Always best to post your car details when asking questions.

Why doesn't extraction type carpet shampoo work? On the fuzzy parts anyway.

What they said - also on the "cloth" seats, it's important to clean the whole panel - ie: do not spot clean, as that will just leave a nasty ring.

I have a Bissell pro heat rug shampooer here that works great on my HHR seats.

I have been using Mr. Clean with Gain in it lately.

yes these seats drive me insane...even if its raining and you can some drops on the seat, it will stain!
I have just recently painted all my seats with Duplicolor Fabric/Vinyl paint and they look nice and fresh again. Hopefully the staining wont happen as easily now

Thanks for all the input... first I am talking about the "cloth seats"... YES the ones that drive you nuts to clean and even rain drops will spot them. I had heard that only a hot / steam cleaner would work so looking for one. I got some "tuff stuff" cleaner and will try that also as most of the time it works. I think GM was looking for a long lasting and tough seat material but didn't check the stain part out very good. Mine is light grey and shows everything, I was looking at another 08 HHR that has all black inside and wish I had that. Be nice to change out the seats to black if I ever find some. Never had a car so dirty, lots of cleaning to do, under seats was a mess. This is what you get with kids and eating inside, I didn't think people did that any more. Well members... on I clean and clean! I plan to then get seat covers, easier to put in the washer than clean the stock seats. Spend a little extra and get a good set... that's the plan.

i have the black cloth seats..trust me it doesnt matter which one u have, they all stain haha

Did any one ever clean their seats well and then apply a Scotchguard type product? I've had really great success with this on the vehicles that had fabric interior. I even use the scotchguard carpet product on the carpets. Works well.
