What needs cleaned on the fuel system? Is this something I can do myself at home? Thanks.

It isn't part of the normal maintenance - pass on it, unless you have some problem you are attempt to resolve.

And after they get done with they'll tell you that your muffler bearing is bad too.

Ah, the old blinker fluid story. We had a 1997 Acura 3.2 TL that everytime it rained the left taillight assembly would fill up with water. I used that joke on my wife often. I actually drilled a hole in the bottom of the light so it would drain.

Back on topic: I don't see a recommended mileage or interval anywhere for a fuel system cleaning for the HHR. I actually have to equipment to do that, but never had a need to do it on the HHR. I would think that the only time you'd need to clean the injectors, fuel rail, etc. would be if a clogged injector was suspected.

The straight answer is: they use a computerized sheet to recommend services to their customers in an attempt to raise their revenues.

It is their computer, not the one in your car! My dealer recommended flushing the power steering fluid, and got offended when I offered that it was electronic (no fluid).

Stick to the schedule printed in your https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/gene...s-manual-3074/ . Disregard any "suggested" services, required services are a different thing (if it's broke then fix it).

Some dealerships do that more than others. I guess I've been lucky to have dealt recently with dealerships that keep that sort of thing to a minimum.
