Do I just need a new bulb?

I have a 2009 HHR. I’ve noticed recently that my right rear turn signal and break light do not work. The normal red running light still works but it goes dead when breaking or signaling. Do I just need to replace the bulb or is there something else I should be looking at? Thanks.

You just need a bulb, and since the one on the opposite side is the same age unless its been previously replaced, change it too because it'll burn out soon.

It's always a good idea to change bulbs in pairs, that way you won't have to do the job twice a few days or weeks apart.

P.S. to the forum!

That's what I thought. New bulb has already been ordered.

There are no auto parts stores nearby? They are not "magic" bulbs.

Closest one is about 15 minutes away. Not too far but I got 2 bulbs on amazon with 2 day shipping for about $4.50 total.

Last time I got bulbs at NAPA I'm sure I did not pay more than $2.50. I think the "long Life" ones that I was replacing after they blew out in 6 months cost around $4.

I got long life bulbs. Hopefully they last more than DonBrew's 6 months. I wouldn't be surprised if Walmart or AutoZone has then for $2 less but on a 30 mile round trip I would've spent $4 in gas plus I didn't have to put on pants to buy them.
