Door Link (or Limiter) Replacement
I finally got my drivers Door Link (or Limiter, depending on who you talk to), replaced today.
According to Michaels Chevrolet here in Fresno, they would have charged me $250.00+tax, not including the part, and 6 hours in the shop. They charged me 64.95 for the part. I found out I can get the same part from a GM Parts supplier on line for $32.00 with free shipping.
I went into Goodguys this morning at 7am when they opened and gave them the part, 45 minutes later, and a $50.00 charge, my drivers door no longer creeks.
It's a simple replacement, but I'm not confident enough to remove the door panel and replace the part... but for $50.00 I had someone proffessional do it for me.
The sound of silence... wonderful.

I sent you an IM
That's the creek for the Door Link... it might appear to be the hinge, at first, but it isn't.
Touch the black hard plastic part in between the door hinge when you open the door, and if it feels like it 'vibrates', that's the problem.
