I do notice that when using the keyless entry, the light illuminates on unlock, but does not blink like the right side does. Is this more indicative of a socket then? Since the turn signal/multi switch isn't even being used in this case.

I think the unlock blink is the other filament.

One filament is stop/turn the other is tail.

My logic leads to either the socket or the wiring near it. Unless there have been any modifications!! Many people splice into the harness for trailer light, that sometimes cuts the wire. OR, LEDs are installed anywhere.

So if one filament is the stop/turn, then would it mean my brake light isn't working as well? I haven't thought about this but I'll have to have someone look and see if the brake light isn't working when I push the pedal.

Also, all of this is stock. No modifications.

Correct, brake and turn are on one filament, running lights on the other.

Upon further inspection, this is correct. The brake light is also not working as well as the blinker.

Would my best course of action be to check the socket with a multimeter then?

Yup check for ground using the ohm meter - as they both use a common ground - then check for 12V.

If both at not working, I'd suspect the ground wire/connection.

yep. I concur. Since the bulb wasn't the issue, this IS a socket or localized wiring issue.

The socket gets hot, these are available online or at your GM dealership, or parts palace.

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to investigate the socket and wiring in in the next couple of days. Is there a specific place where the wire is typically grounded? The worst part about all of this is trying to work in the little access compartment for the lights. I don't even have big hands but the space constraint is frustrating.
