I came across something this morning I want to share. The plastic taillight lenses on the 2007 I just bought were faded and dull. I experimented with some denatured alcohol on a paper towel. I put some on a paper towel and rubbed it on and after a few applications the lense was shiny and new looking. As I was doing it you could see the yellowish coating come off on the paper towel.

I guess the plastic is the same stuff that used for the headlights. The alcohol took off the coating on the plastic. Looking at Youtube people polish the tail lights like the front ones.

You don't park near watersprinklers do ya, that would get the lights wet ?

I just bought the car last Thursday. Its a Florida car and they call us the Sunshine State for a reason

the bug repellant OFF works as well. i use it on my headlights and taillights.

oh mine was a S Florida car for about 6yrs until i got it!!

i have read someone using a/t fluid.

The internet and YouTube have several videos about ways to wreck your stuff.
The deet in the OFF bug spray melts the plastic it becomes tacky and sticky making the lens trash

my brother in NC. he told me about it then showed me. i was laughing at him at first, but man they looked good so i tried it on mine and it worked great!! i just redid it. also did my neighbors on his lexus. they were white now clear with a nice shine.

just spray it on and wipe off and buff with a paper towel. you may have to do it a few times.

Oldblue is correct. If you use the Off on headlights or taillights it looks good for few days until it gets washed off. After its washed off it leaves a cloudy sticky mess.

mine was good for quite awhile. and i have not noticed a sticky mess. i guess i will stop using it. THANKS for the heads up!
