I have always liked these for my past vehicles. I wouldnt call it a shop manual but it will get you through most R&R jobs. I wonder if Crappy Tire up here in canada carries it yet, or maybe can order it in.

I just stick with ALLDATA, got it for free via torrent, and It's a full service manual for most cars.

Yeah a 1.25 inch thick small book can't compete with the Helms Service Manuals, 2.5 inches each book, but these small books have always walked me through any work I have taken on over the years on my various cars.

It will walk you through a tear down and rebuild and most likely has some electrical diagrams and general maintenance stuff.

Should be a great help to have for anyone owning an HHR. And at a regular reasonable price point for the average guy that just wants to take on the general stuff like oil changes, brakes, tune ups and the like.

I say it's a Great day to FINALLY have a Haynes or even a Chiltons type service manual available thats Dedicated to just the HHR ! :twothumbs:

It's not listed on Amazon yet, why not just order it online through the Link I posted?

It may be awhile before anyplace actually has them in stock on the auto parts stores shelves, they seem to carry just the mainstream Popular cars books.

I'd have done like Sleeper and placed my order right now, but I recently picked up a 2008 Helms/GM Service Manual Set so I'm good to go for now, but I Will order this one as well sooner or later.

I will keep this one in the spare tire well to have on the road, just in case. ;)

This is the only reason I'm buying one. Most of the stuff is online on some forum somewhere but if I'm on the road, I'd like to have a hard copy on me to see if I can get it fixed or fixed enough to limp home. Tons of info out there in internet land but my memory retaining skills have lacked for years...having the "cheat sheet" is cool!! :lol:

Just wondering. Does it cover the SS? I looked through the index, didn't see anything SS specific.

BTW- if you click the "See Inside This Manual" link at the top of the page next to the picture of the book, a PDF file opens and if you scroll down you'll see 2.0L Engine

2.0L engine
1 Remove the air filter housing top cover
mounting screws and lift the cover up.
2 Remove the air filter from the housing.
3 Inspect the outer surface of the filter element.
If it is dirty, replace it. If it is only moderately
dusty, it can be reused by blowing it
clean from the back to the front surface with
compressed air. Because it is a pleated paper
type filter, it cannot be washed or oiled. If it
cannot be cleaned satisfactorily with compressed
air, discard it and install a new one.
While the cover is off, be careful not to drop
anything down into the housing.
4 Wipe out the inside of the air cleaner
housing.
5 Place the new filter into the air cleaner
housing, making sure it seats properly.
6 Installation of the housing is the reverse
of removal.
