HHR Under hood Fuse box/junction box (electrical issues)
HHR Under hood Fuse box/junction box (electrical issues)
The TLDR is: The basic question to start with is is the 06 2.2L LS under hood fuse box the same as the 11 2.4L 2LT under hood fuse box as I want to try and swapping them to see if my issues go away. From the top and from the diagram block the junction box look identical but what I am finding online seems to indicate they are not compatible.
I have owned an 06 2.2L LS HHR since 2008 and just recently upgraded to the 11 2.4L 2LT HHR and have had some issues with the new car starting a few months after I got it. I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me with an issue with my 2011 LT 2.4L HHR. I also have a 2006 LS 2.2L HHR. I have been having some small electrical issues I bought the car in May of 2023 and around November I started having a an issue where the keyfob wouldn't lock or unlock the car unless I kept pressing it down and then eventually it would finally receive the signal and work. Around the same time that this started I also started having an issue where when I started the car for the first time of the day it wouldn't want to shift to second right away and at the same time the speedometer would only register 0MPH. After driving for a 1000 feet or so the speedo would work and it would shift. Unless it didn't. In these cases the car would hard shift into 2nd and flash at me a power steering error. Once the speedo starts working it is shifting harder than normal into the gears though I can power off the car and wait a few seconds and then power it on and it works normally. You can follow this link to see visually what I am referring to in case what I said wasn't clear enough: https://photos.app.goo.gl/na791Ti8xAHz3w8H6
This weekend I was working on replacing the engine mounts which required me to disassemble the fuse box under the hood to reach the last mount there I put it back together and now when I turn the key to ACC the front and rear wipers start going but the front one isn't getting enough power and so just barely moves. It is also doing the same issue with speedo not registering and not wanting to shfit and then giving me a power steering error along with a bunch of others including airbag, abs, ecs.
Based on other posts I have read here it seems like the junction box is likely to be the issue but I have removed it and reassembled it several times already and it still isn't fixing the issue so my next though is to try swapping the 06 junction box into the 11 and see if it makes the problems go away or not. They look identical from the top but I don't want to blow up the computers in the car if they are wired up differently. Does anyone have any other suggestions on what is going on? Thank you very much in advance.

Thank you so much!!! That was exactly what it was. I was just about to take it apart and reassemble it again when you replied so I tightened them down until I was afraid I was about to destroy the threads and now the new issues since yesterday are gone. Now I just have to figure out the other issues, like why is it still vibrating so much even though I just replaced all four motor/transmission mounts.
is there 1 or 2 cable going to the positive terminal on the fusebox. I took mine apart and put it back together and it runs great for 1-2 minutes and then dies out. I cant figure it out. I took it apart again and nothing seams wrong with it. but I started thinking maybe there was 2 cables going to the positive post on the fusebox and maybe I missed it. I cant find but one cable for the positive, but it may be tucked away that's why I am asking.
