I installed a set from RockAuto in August 2019, the lift gate stays open when I open it and closes when I close it.
the struts were a clearance item $5.00 each!

You have to check in every once in a while! I just scored a pair of PowerStop hubs for $49.00 CDN each!

I know the way amazon inventories things in their warehouse makes mistakes of similar looking parts to get sent out but sometimes the items themselves are just not right to begin with. So my question is, how long do these things generally last? Has anyone bought some of the cheaper ones from rockauto and have any issues?
I discovered that, though the overall length of hood struts may be correct, the length of the barrel matters... you need the shorter barrel size (the stroke length is 10.25 Inch, not 10.61 Inch!), otherwise it'll bind or snap the ball stud like it did mine. I'm also finding out that struts have a 10mm ball socket on one end and a smaller ball socket on the other end, but nobody seems to know what size it is because they keep saying it's 10mm (which it obviously isn't!). Doesn't make sense to use 2 different sizes for what should be more or less universal, but I guess that's the way of things

These things don't have a very predictable life.I've needed 3 or 4. I've always gotten them at a boneyard very cheap or free.
