I go about 6 mos or 6000 miles. I also change my filter every time. I'm a DIYer and I find it much easier than letting some corner oilchanger do it. Another thing I do is check all the other fluids and filters at this time.

Once a year, or off the DIC..

But I don't put 5k a year on my panel. Primary rides are my bikes.

I second Solman as the DIC is a good measure and will keep your engine running great and not waste money.

The DIC is real and works.

Oils and engines are so much better today and only if you reach really high engine temps, extreme dirty conditions or a lot of short trips where the engine never gets up to temp do you need to worry other wise.

Time have changed from the old way of doing things so take advantage of them. Old habits die hard.
