I'm not sure if this is a sparkplug issue or something else

I don't have a lot of experience with this, but the other day it got a lot chiller outside than it has been, and on my way to work I felt a weird jerk when I pressed the accelerator somewhere between 20-40mph. It doesn't always happen, in fact it happens less often than not, and I'm not noticing any other problems.

Any suggestions? The car is a 2006 with 73k on it.

Check for codes, or we'll be guessing. That can get expensive.

There's no CEL, should I get it scanned anyway?

Yes please, and have your battery and charging system tested.

Certainly - there might be Pending codes lurking in the background.

Sparkplugs usually last 100,000 miles, so I would not necessarily suspect them. Plus, misfiring plugs generally will throw a CEL code pretty quick (they are the P0300-P0304 codes).
My suspicion would be a throttle body issue - perhaps needing a cleaning - but hey that is just a guess - so get the codes read to see if there are any pending ones, and go from there.

Best of luck

Thanks guys, you always give me good advice. I'll check the throttle body tomorrow and I'll try and get out to a parts store with a scanner!

I actually had my battery and alternator tested a couple months ago, but I'll definitely get it checked out.

Update: I checked the throttle body and it was surprisingly very clean. Wiped it off a little bit, nothing major going on. Took it to autozone, no codes. So I'm either being paranoid or nothing is registering as wrong yet. At this mileage, it shouldn't be anything in the sparkplugs or transmission, so... Hopefully my brain just picked up something super sensitively and I'm over-reacting!

If anything happens in the future, I'll come back and update again!

Ok, keep us posted!

Vague description could point to front suspension parts.
