Just another oil filter thread well almost

was just over on rock auto.dotcom. . .
and was looking at oil filters and saw this below

just wanted you guys input on this. not that i think i need to do this. . .

.................................................. ..........................................
Since it can be difficult to obtain access to the
Oil Pressure Sender / Switch when the oil filter is on,
OE manufacturers suggest replacing this
part when changing oil.

That's hilarious. I thought I was the only one who read that! I know I change my switch every 5000 miles. Ya can't be to careful with these new fandangled engines!

OMG - that is funny.

I also heard somewhere that the hood struts should be replaced at the same time, but to me that is rather excessive. Once every second oil/filter change seems more reasonable to me.

Maybe just 1 per change that way you're always protected by a new one. Belive me you wouldn't want that giant hood coming down on you! I knocked the prop "stick" out once. It wasn't easy getting it back in while stuck under the hood.

Well, the don't exactly say every oil change. But, I'm scared now!

Now I'm going to be worried about that Power Steering fluid flush I wouldn't pay for 8 years ago.

I think whoever copied that to the parts site has it a little confused. GM SUGGESTS changing the oil if a sender needs to be replaced, to make the sender parts change easier....at least that is the way I remember it.

So the oil filter is not in the way when you take it 'off' during an oil change?
