License Plate Bulb ?

2011 1LT 2.2
1 bulb is out rear plate !
How the heck do you remove the bulb ?
Pulled the lens cover off and there is a twist socket that looks like it covers the bulb.
When loose it will push in and not pull out !
Do you have to remove the tail gate cover handle on the hatch ?
I see 1 screw and 2 for the latch !
I can not find anything in Search Box or You Tube
I know it is simple once you know what to do lol
I like to know so I do not cause any damage !
Any links would be cool !

Thanks

Take off the interior tailgate panel, there’s two 10 mm nuts and take off the beauty bar , the twist the socket to get at the bulb. The rear wiper motor gets in the way to access the driver’s side license plate bulb.

If it’s the passenger side bulb , you can access that just by removing the interior panel and reaching into the cavity

The driver’s side bulb

The access port to a fastener

The other side

You can access the passenger side from inside the hatch

The wiper motor blocks the driver’s side bulb

It never occurred to me to check the license plate bulbs. All the plates are reflective these days so the cops prolly never notice if they are unlit.

States with annual inspection notice. The shops charge labor to install them.

Yeah, I’m spoiled. Ohio has inspection but not in my county, just emissions I think, anyway.

Steve in this picture is the plate under that angle piece off ?
If so looks a bit easier to change the bulb lol
Or is it a Photoshop pic ?
The way the book reads you can pull the bulb through the outside ! Or I am reading it wrong. I see from your pic you cannot pull the socket out the outside,
If the panel under the plate cover comes off that would be great,
Or when the temps drompsbelow 85* Ill pop the panel.
Sorry for the stupid ?.
Been high 80s here so have not messed with it !
The front markers should not be a issue through the wheel well, But from the looks of them I would think they would pop out by being pried ? Thanks
