Anything by Mobil marked MOBIL1 is a "full" synthetic.

Anything by Mobil marked dexos approved, may or may not be a full synthetic. I think you are confusing the terminology. The "key" as stated above, is MOBIL 1.

And hell what do you know, I can now post again after 5 days.

OP may have found what I did when I googled Moble 1
Mobil 1 0W-30 Advanced Fuel Economy Full Synthetic Motor Oil,
Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil
Mobil 1 High Mileage 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil,
Mobil 1 5W-30,
My head is starting to spin after google turns all this up at walmart. Think I'll just mix them all together just so I am covered.

I get Mobil 1 when it goes on sale for about $30 at canadian tire or partsource, happens every 6 months or so. I've used regular and extended performance. Quaker state is ok and Pennzoil are also good, just make sure its full synthetic. There are websites that test and rate them.

EDIT: mobil 1 is 30% off at canadian tire starting this friday

I'd avoid the M1 "high mileage" unless you have hi miles with some weeps or small leaks.

The GM standard oil ratings are 1 difference you will see between the different Mobil One choices.
Before the Dexos inclusion, there was the 2 oil rating requirements for the HHR.
GM6094M- 2.2, 2.4 engines
GM4718M- 2.0 engine

If you read the ratings on the back of the container, you will notice that most Mobil Ones will say GM6094M. Only a few carry the GM4718M.
I use the regular Mobil One which has the GM4718M.

Part of it is shelf space. The more shelf space, the more sales. Detergent, toilet paper, car wax, etc. Works like that for any commodity you buy. The MFG varies the product slightly because of laws regarding retailing.
