Had a tree branch come down and hit the moon roof (kinda wish it just broke instead)
Roof has a small dent on the 2 front corners, but not too noticeable. Problem is the leading edge of the moon roof isn't coming up high enough. About 1/8" on drivers side and about 3/16 on passenger's side. Needless to say it leaks. I never really use it, but rather see if there might be a fix/adjustment other than silicone and/or packing tape. And what to look at/for
I'll post pics later when I get a chance.
TIA
Looks like some work to lift the dents back to normal. Perhaps drop the head liner , remove the seats and use a bottle jack and 2x4 to gently return the sheet metal to were it closes the gaps up.
Greg, at this age , insurance wouldn’t fix it , just cut a check and write it off!

But the glass is below the level of the metal. Popping the dents out is going to do what exactly? The dents are rather shallow. I just missed seeing come down, was working near by. I think it mainly hit the glass and pushed it down.
Pushing up the dents will cause the sheet metal to return (somewhat ) to its original shape.
Pondering it, possibly. Could have caused the corner to move into the opening resulting in too much tension/friction for it to lift into final position.
But gonna cheat a bit, and use a block of wood between the headliner so I don't have to drop it. (though might try a PDR kit I have first if it span it.)
Popped the dent(s) out. (That PDR kit is kinda cool!) But it is definitely the track. Tossed a level across the opening (as a straight edge) and measure with a caliper, The pass side is lower (and only side that is leaking.)
Now the question is to just jack up from the bottom, or squash between the the track and roof? I'm thinking a little of both. Or are there any adjustment screws or the like? Kinda tight to peek in there.
I can't imagine how that repair would be more than book value. If they did write it off it would be a cheap buy-back. Might try home owner insurance if you got it.
My bet is something broke.
