Yeah, they sent me a flyer on them, we're going to try a few in our trucks as they come due for service. I'll let everyone know how they do compared to what we have been using.

Sounds neat! Then you could run synthetic longer and not worry about having to change the filter! I wonder when they're going to make a regular car version?

It may take a while, new filters are usually tried out in fleet and heavy duty apps before they hit the streets in civilian vehicles. You may never see a street version of some filters because of the duty cycles cars see and the oil change intervals that are much shorter.

Well I doubt I would need one anyways.... I don't drive enough, I change my oil more than I need to... I like doing that, and it's not really that expensive to do myself. I just figured online, it would take me over 15 years to use a barrel of oil at the rate I change my cars...and that's if I drove all 3 all year!

I use one

I use a WIX filter in my SS. It is still a standard 3000-4000 mile filter. They don't make extended life filters for the SS, that I know. I use AMSOIL in my vehicle ever since I bought. It is the only oil manufacturer that I know of that directly tests against other synthetic manufacturers. I get my WIX filter through their site. For some vehicles they offer a 25000 mile filter along with their 35000 mile synthetic oil, which is what I use in the SS. You can't go that long in a turbo however, I still change my oil twice a year, but it is great stuff. I've used it in every vehicle I've owned since switching from Royal Purple. But I still have to do filter swaps every 3-4k miles because of it still being just a standard paper filter.

I use the 25,000 mile AMSOIL and use a NAPA gold filter that I think is made by WIX. I change the filter every 5,000 miles and change oil at 20,000. I have used AMSOIL since 1999 and never had any oil problems. I run it in 2 cars, 1 diesel pick up truck the motor home and the lawn tractor.

I never have heard about these filters, actually, the factory of Wix Affinia is on the road to my job (on the same hometown where is made the HHR, Ramos Arizpe)... Are these better as K&N, or Fram?

fwiw: I would avoid any filters from Fram. They ain't what they used to be.
More money seems to be spent in advertising that R&D..

Just sayin..
