Just wondering if you guys change your oil at a specific month interval, mileage interval, or based a certain oil % that shows up in the display?


And what is the interval or %.

If you do a search on this topic you will find hundreds of opinions.

I use the DIC and when I get near 30% I buy the oil/filter and change it when it is convenient for me sometime beetween 10% - 25%

 

You can take it right down to 10% or so....especially if you are using Mobil 1 Synthetic...which you should be using.....it lasts over 10k miles and then some.

 

I change mine between 20 and 30% depending on how I've been driving.

 

I was at wally world over the weekend and went ahead and picked up my supplies for the next change. OLM is at 16% right now. Tires on going on this weekend. Maybe the next will get the oil done, no hurry though, could probably get another 500-1000 miles before it gets around 5%.

 

Just FYI, the OLM will automatically adjust how fast it goes down based on your driving habits. e.g. lots of cold starts = less miles, high RPM launches = less miles, cold ambient temp = less miles, city driving = less miles.
You probably get the point.

 

Just changed mine this weekend. Last oil change was June 09. My oil life was at 5% in the middle of the week when "Change Oil Soon" appeared on my dash. Was at 4% when I got to it that weekend. Had just a little over 10k miles on the drained oil. Wish it could have waited a month and a half and it would have been warm. Changing oil in the winter is no fun.

 

I just change mine when the "change oil soon" message pops up on the DIC
