Guess, I'm old school, I run Mobil 1 in my 2007, and change around 5,000 miles, or at about six months, whichever come first. I treat the DIC as a general guide, not an absolute. Have done this for years (since Mobil 1 first appeared on the market, about 1979) on many cars, and have never had an oil lubrication problem on any engine. Cheap engine insurance, IMO!

I use water in my oil. It helps the life of the oil. :p JKing.
The oil debate will forever go on. I use amsoil. and i change it every 8k miles. Which was roughly 4 months

The oil isn't rated for 100,000 miles like the trans?

In the 50's I used to mix kerosene with 4 qts of cheap refined oil and flush the engine in my 53 Chevy coupe 235cu. in. straight 6.
Let it run on the hoist floor for 10 minutes and then dumped it.
Then put in New Fresh so called quality non detergent 30W oil.
The oil filter was mounted separately and I used a roll of white toilet paper for a filter which just fit nicely.
Changed it every 2000 miles.

Those were the Days.......

I know, I know, enough about oil changes. There has been plenty said about oil types and miles between changes but how long is reasonable? Is 12 months the max you should go even if you've only got 2000 miles on your Mobil 1? Just wondering what people thought.
