Oil on headliner

Oil on headliner

got home from the dealership after some work being done to the HHR and I noticed above my head there is an oil smear of someones oily finger on my headliner ...any ideas on how to take it off? home remedies? steam? upholstery cleaner strong enough?

The dealer did it? I go right back there and make them take it off.

Other than the obvious "take it back to the dealer" (of which I'd do first for a professional cleanning) you can try Oxyclean and some of your regular laundry detergent. You can spray some "shout" or other stain remover and then lightly clean it with the oxyclean/detergent mixture. Pat dry and move on with life....This way has worked for years for me to remove my idiot oil/grease stains from my seats/headliner or any other fabric I mess up....

The best success I have had is the same stuff I use on my hands...its called carbolic soap...its used for acne, and removes everything from my skin when i work on my car, I have used it on a floor mat before. they sell them at the health food stores. near me its called "feel rite". Its a red bar of soap, has a distinct smell to it too
