I am running duralast flex blades purchased from AutoZone. They are a good blade I just wanna uprade again to the Bosch Icon. I love those blades.

So besides the air filter being a PITA to change and headlights are just a stuipd design to change now you guys are saying except for the OEM wipers NO ONE makes a replacement that a fit right on . you gotta cut /grind to get the other brands to fit ? And I bet the rear one is another design PITA also ?

First set I put on were the Bosch Icon's and they fit perfectly. Next set were the RainX brand, they also fit perfectly, but I'll switch back to the Icon's next time.

If I remember correctly, the Icon's had a different part number for the driver/pass side.

Just to update this thread I started for all the future noobs... I was able to re-position the arm in less than 1 minute. You simply pop off the plastic cover at the base of the arm, remove the 16mm nut, pop the arm off, re-position, and that's it!

I just put the Rain-X blades on mine as well. They look like the "typical" wiper blade design we have seen since the inception of the wiper blade but they work well. No problem with alignment.

The rear one is "not listed" but if you go to the rear wiper display at your local pepboys/advance etc. get the 11 inch it fits perfectly. It is just one of those HHR parts that cannot find a spot in the books, is it an SUV, a Truck, a Car, a 4-door station wagon, a 5-door, a hatchback. You just need to find a parts guy you can trust and is cheap.

Originally weren't you asking about replacing the "insert", that is a problem with any wiper these days. There is no problem replacing the wiper "blade".

Oh, yeah, just wait till you get to replace the thermostat! That re-defines PITA!

Well I hope I won't have to I bought a 5 yr 100.000 mile GM waranty. To much expensive crapola on these things 2 repairs of any serious kind and Iam making money in the long run . BUT I and assuming the Thermo would be covered ? but I will have to pay $50.00 fee on each repair . I know MOST everyone don't buy warantys but over the yrs I have made out like a bandit buying them 1 areo star van we had they had to put 3 tranies in after I sold it I herd there was a recall on it . that was back in 87 I think . sense then every waranty I have bought has paid for itself 5 times over .

From what I have read on here Iam glad I bought the dang warany .

Don't get me wrong we love our HHR but man some of the simple do it yourself maint stuf is designed really STUPID .

Several places carry the rear blade now. I went this route the last time verses a refill.

Funny thing is, I never had a problem with my wipers before, and I had replaced them once. Then this spring I go to the dealer and get new wiper blades since my old ones rotted out, and the passenger one is too long! Wonder why this one is, but the last two sets weren't?
