rear brake adjustment

rear brake adjustment
I know the rear brakes dont self adjust when you back up and stop like they are supposed to. This may be a stupid idea but I wonder if I put a weight inside the very back of the car and then backed up and stopped if the self adjusters would work like they are supposed to?

The adjustment (if needed) is very simple, I check mine when I do oil & filter change.
Once you have your routine down, it's like a pit stop at the track.
And if my E-Brake ever needs more than 3 or 4 clicks to hold my ride on a slope, adjusting time is needed.

It's mostly because the front brakes are very good and they engineered the weight transfer very well.
If you ever load a lot of weight in the rear take note that the front takes almost as much of the load as the rear.

If you look at the design of the adjuster, it works by clicking the star wheel while the brakes are being depressed, so if you shove your foot hard enough into the brake peddle it can adjust the rears. the piston pushes the shoes apart, the adjustment lever is attached to one of the shoes and tied to the other with a spring, which when the brakes are applied it pulls up on the adjustment lever thus turning the star wheel a click.
