I watched that video a few days back. I have seen a video on a different car where you could purchase a 2 rubber bushing that uses the existing metal ring so you wouldn't have to press out the outer ring. Just seeing if anyone has come across something like that for the HHR.
Interesting, part #16 is labeled as SUPPORT. Rear Axle Control Arm.
But none of the other parts in the diagram are labeled as a control arm. Maybe leftover nomenclature from older rear suspension designs.
Parts nomenclature is rather arbitrary, mostly driven by convention, often decided at a very low level.
Source: I have named a lot of parts, mostly in my early days as a detail draftsman. Whatever my simple mind put in the title block, unless the checker or some other senior person objected, became that part’s name forever.
I know this is an older thread but today I heard a clunk from the rear of the car as I was backing up with somewhat of an acceleration. Heard it again as I put in in drive. Haven't had a chance to jack it up yet but Im guessing thats about the only thing back there that can cause a clunk. I have new springs and the rubber spring dampers installed along with newer shocks. Bearings spin free and are tight. Axle beam bushing time?
