Runny Black stuff

Ha Ha! No. Puente Hills Chevrolet. Was a low mileage return. It was used, though slightly. So perhaps they used something to "recharge" the black. The rubber itself is in good condition and has not changed colors due to washing. Just a light residue rubs off with detergent or glass cleaner.

Maybe they used the new Meguiar product. But I don't think it would cause your issue. Maybe someone thought it would be a good idea to use grease on it?

The first time I washed my used black HHR my sponge was black from the "cover the scratches as seen on TV" stuff.

Oh wow. I wonder why people use that stuff when a clay bar and some wax will do the job right.
