ACDelco, GM original equipment. They were made by Sachs, probably still are.

 

I made the mistake of buying front struts made by Detroit Axle. Junk when new! They rattle like they are broken right away. I complained and got replacements that did the same thing. Stay away from Detroit Axle!

 

I got Sach SS OEM. Dry. Pretty high pressure in gas charged shocks, old stock might show a sign of seepage. GM has (at least one) TSB that explains their view on the difference between seepage (fluid dampness and maybe adhering dust), which they think is usually ok, and leakage (wet, drips) which is not.

 

Sent it back this morning. After talking to Sachs, I decided it was more fluid than I was willing to accept.

 

Good decision.

 

Now I just have to wait till they're back in stock, if ever. Or sell the one Sachs rear I have if someone needs it and buy the OEM ones.

Coincidently I was just looking at SS suspension parts at Rock Auto a little while ago. Looks like they got your return, lol.

I hate that under 2.0 Turbo they list all the stuff for LS &LT as well. Cause a lot of trouble with ball joints in particular.

 

I recently installed a pair of Monroe shocks, I bought the better of the two Monroe offerings, from the local auto parts store. They installed perfectly and I could tell in a few blocks that they were better than the 125000 mile originals.
