Just an idea, but maybe we can "baptize" our rides on the legendary Route 66. Once you get past Joliet, Route 66 is a nice cruise, with small towns and photo ops.

We can meet at a specific place, like Route 66 Raceway, cruise south and see the sights, maybe go as far as Odell (where there is a great old restored Rt. 66 gas station for photos), and then jump on I-55 to get back to Chicagoland. Odell is only 45 miles from Joliet, so this can easily be done in one day.

If interested, let's make a list of participants, decide on a couple dates, and I can plan things out.

I was pretty much referring to this Regional Board. For some reason Wisc got paired up with Minnesota and westward. I'd rather be associated with you Illinois characters instead of those purple ppl eaters. Plus Minnesota is too far away.

 

Sorry, I thought you were a new member. Yeah, I remember the regions being a bit odd, including Wisconsin not being with Illinois. I think there should be a midwest region, IL, WI, MI, IN.

Anyway, I'm up for a meet regardless of where we're all from.

 

This is something I would love to do maybe next year,
I've been wanting to see the mother road. & was going to plan a trip last year but stuff came up . Let me know when you plan to go. I'm from NE Indiana so it would take some planning on my part.
