A day at the rock!!
Well everyone Pat and I went to SR to confirm our plans with the administration and found 1 spot with a shelter and electricity!!! so bring on the Coffee!!! we ran into some other hhrs (check the maybe newbie thread GDZHHR started for details) we talked to some peeps at the gas station in oglesby and saw some sweet muscle cars!! we drove through Utica and it looks as thought the lil trinket shops are still open (seasonal) and went to J.C. Whitneys and BS`d with Toby for a while! where as usual Pat had a few more brain farts about some ideas for the national type deal! Then low and behold what comes rollin in on the back of a car trailer while Pat and I were outside chattin ??? A unrestored 1948 chevy suburban 2 door delivery!!!!!WOW we both about dropped so being the shy guys we are we ran over to the guy and asked if we could take a few pics of it and he said sure!!!!! so we did and then when he came out of the store we told him all about us and This great web site!! he told pat he would keep us updated on the restoration and maybe send us some pics!!! COOL!!!! so there you have it it was a fun great day!! Thanx for the help and the fun Pat!!! PS my camera isnt digital so it may be a week or so before u all see the pics SORRY!!!!

For you guys coming out of the Peoria area, I drove both 29 and 26 and the leaves are turning very well with 26 having a more "rural" feel. I doubt that I will be cruisin' in with you guys unless you are leaving by 7:00 or so because I am planning on being in the park when it opens to secure the shelter, lots 'o tables, good cover, clean permanent latrines (bathrooms if you weren't in the Army) plenty of green space for frisbie, or baseball or football, nice parking, plenty of electrical outlets and a couple of charcoal/wood grilles...Great fun just hangin' out yesterday!!!
