Starved Rock II...the BBQ
All,
There has been interest in a second Starved Rock Run so here we go, we have two dates to choose from The first date being Saturday May 24 or the second the following Saturday June 1. I have already checked with the park officials and we are reserved for May 24, but they should be able to change for us, if necessary. I am researching local cruise-ins to find if there is anything else going on either weekend, but I did find out that the local 1/4 mile dirt track is open for late model stock car racing at $10.00 per person.
Of course there are hotels in the area, with affordable lodging in Oglesby or more upscale lodging at the Great Bear Lodge.
This will be a covered dish BBQ, there are electrical outlets and BBQ pits available at the shelters that we will be holding. I will be bringing chilli an d probably some brats or sausages and whatever else I run over on the way !!!
I will also contact Toby at JC Whitney to see if they are interested in us coming over as we did for year one...
Please let me know if you are interested and what day that you would prefer...my choice is May 24, just to open the bidding !!!

Both dates are bad for us also. We have a wedding on the 24th and we are going to Chicago the 31st to have a birthday celebration get together for my son-in-law who just passed away, he would have turned 29 on the 29th! If you do it on Sunday the 1st, that would be a good day. Then the next weekend, we have a niece's graduation party.

Since this is a bad time for most, I would like to see another date. I haven't seen any one give Scaleguy 2 other dates. We need to work together in order for this to happen. So lets see some dates. I would like to thank Pat & Rita for working on these dates and taking the trip to starve Rock. How about a Sunday, I hate Sundays but if this will work for most I will drive the long trip.

I would like to thank Pat & Rita for working on these dates and taking the trip to starve Rock. How about a Sunday, I hate Sundays but if this will work for most I will drive the long trip.
