August 28th GM Milford Proving Grounds G2G

On Saturday August 28th GM will be holding an open house at the Milford Proving grounds in Milford Michigan.

Saturday, August 28, 2010
9:00 am – 4:00 pm
$2 Hot Dog Lunch
Refreshments

3300 General Motors Road
Milford, MI 48380-3726



OPEN HOUSE
Visitors must have one GM/Contract/Retiree ID badge per group (one vehicle or caravan) for entry through Proving Ground Main Security Gate
Self –Guided Road System Tour
Visitors will be given a designated route to follow down to Black Lake (Vehicle Dynamics Test Area) and a different route to follow from Black Lake to PG exit

Vehicle Ride & Drive
40 GM vehicles available to evaluate on Black Lake

Advanced Driving Demonstrations every hour

Local Business Expo set up in Building 106

Classic Vehicle Display

Charity Events - $10 Donation per Family to participate
(pre-register with Wanda Evans)
10 – 11:30 am - Ride and Handling Loop Run
Bring your running shoes
1 – 2 pm Circle Track Bike Ride
Bring your bike and helmet
Chance to drive a Chevy Volt.

I'd like to know what everyone thinks. My dad would have to be in the leed car because hes the GM employee. We will determine where to meet depending on the number of people interested in this. We will also determine what time to show up once we determine the number of individuals.

Oh man, you know I'd love to go to that, but unfortunately that's the same weekend as my best friends 21st, so I'll be in Grand Rapids for the weekend.....

I have to say maybe for right now. Will have to wait and see if I am still employed in a couple of weeks or not, plus depends on school.

What time are you planning on meeting there? I mean, if it isn't too early there is a chance... Not sure how long it takes to get there from GR, but it's a straight shot (somewhat) from 96. I'll probably be up late that night....but I'd REALLY like to go.....

I am thinking we can meet 11 ish somewhere in howell or brighton and then we can head to the grounds.

We could meet at great escape in howell again and then go from there.. Its about 30 mins from there to the proving grounds but we can take you in the back way.

Dang.... 11 is awfully early. It's only a 2 hour drive though from Allendale to Howell....

It's going to be hard to say. I think I would like to plan on doing it. I might be tired, and may need a 5 hour energy, but I would REALLY like to go see the proving grounds. I go by there and always wonder what it's like inside!
