Bowling Green Ohio G2G May 15, 2010
 

We have been kickin around the idea of a meet in Bowling Green on May 15th. Right now we are planning on lunch, then as long as we get permission(which Dorothy is going to write a letter or call and ask) the place we have planned is Called Nazereth Hall to take pics, then after we take some pics go to Perry Falls Mini Golf in Perrysburg(its a 18 hole course). Dinner(not sure where just yet) after mini golf, then possibly catch a movie. There is a drive in movie theater that is about a half hour west of Bowling Green that we thought might be cool, if not then we could just catch a movie in either Perrysburg or Toledo. This is my first planning of a G2G so please bear with me,lol. Let me know which date is better.

Ahhhh ... darn. You had me all excited for Bowling Green KENTUCKY! That's only an hour plus from me ... shucks. You know, home of the Corvette plant and Corvette Museum! Would also make a great meet-up!

What kind of time frame are you looking at? I'm subject to much change between now and may as far as my schedule but I work 2nd's and I work on sunday but BG's only about an hour for me


Either date is fine, I'm subject to work changing so it's 6 to one a half-dozen to the other

Either is fine with me. The 15th would be my first choice, but both would work....

We had talked yesterday about maybe in April, but normally around here April is rainy and crappy so we decided on May. www.nazerethhall.com this is the place i want to go to take pics at. Hopefull they will say it is ok for us to take pics there of our HHR's. fieldofdreamsdrivein.com this is the drive in that i had mentioned earlier. It is a lil bit of a drive from Bowling Green, and the gates open at 7 p.m.,you pay $6 a person and get to watch 2 movies. The weekend of the 15th is Ironman 2, and there isnt a listing yet for the 2nd feature just yet.

Sounds great. Never ate at Frickers. They built one in Fort Wayne but we never went there. You want us to eat mexican and then go watch a movie?!? I'll miss half of the movie :D

Yeah, I know they said on the website that you listen to the sound of the movie through your car stereo on a certain channel.

I just looked up the drive in on google maps and from Bowling Green it is 29 miles.

I'd like to sit in the back of our cars with the hatches open! That'd be fun!!!

I dont know if I could see a movie from the back of my car. BUt i should be able to make that.. Sounds really fun

That sucks that it's that close and you guys can't attend.

Anyone have a portable radio? If it's nice out we can sit outside our cars at the drive in and watch. We could always just roll down our windows and turn up the car radio but it would just be easier with a portable radio :thumb:

Oh man, I was gonna say yes to the portable radio, but... mine has four wheels and a 2.2, well i guess that options out LOL. I think I can atleast make lunch, but I'm gonna show up in overalls and work boots cause I'll have to leave about two so I can get to work.:thumb:

Im sorry Grey, you need to give us a schedule of the weekends that you have National Gaurd so we can plan a G2G that you will be able to attend.

I've been pretty busy with work but now that I'm through all the busy stuff I should have some free time.

I also got a new comp last weekend. The other one had a broken ac jack so it wouldnt charge properly.

Its a little far out but May 15 might be a possibility.

I also met another black ss on the freeway today and we had a fun time. I forgot his s/n but its something along the lines of black ss. Nice guy and a great car.

Well it happened again, lol, tommorow I start third trick with Sunday Monday restdays, who knows, maybe by the time may hits I'll have wed. thurs.

Well I talked to one of the staff members at Nazereth Hall today, and he said as long as we didnt interfear with anything that was going on that day that it would be ok with him, but just to be on the safe side I am goin to talk to the actual manager about it and make sure it is cool with him. As soon as I talk to him I will let everyone know what he said.

when it opened in 1928 it was a catholic boys school, and i think later on it became like a militarty boys school. It closed in 1982. If you goto the website it tells a lil bit about its history. www.nazerethhall.com. After it closed it sat empty for the longest time then someone had bought it and now uses it for weddings, receptions, they have a sunday brunch every sunday there. It is pretty much like a huge banquet hall now. Dorothy had her senior prom there back in 1993,lol.

I just left the manager a voice mail about us wanting to take pics out there so hopefully I here back from him soon.
