That would be awsome. I'm in. ohiohhr.org sounds good. I've been noticing quite a few HHR's around town. more than the norm. There's even one that looks like Royalt's HHR hanging around. Thats always good to see

Teech,

Give me some feedback as to why and I will be glad to add to add the option to the list. My research says org might be better.

Thanks for the feedback

My comment carried a few assumptions (please excuse the comment if they are incorrect): that your club would correspond MOSTLY over the internet and that you did not wish for the club to act as a entity within itself (generate its own revenue, sponsor events, etc.)

Orginally used by ISP's, the .net usually signifies the administration of a network. THe network that you are setting up is not of the same type, but a network nonetheless, where the prime objective is communication.

.org is typically used by non-profit organizations or incorporated entities. The difference being that the organization has a life of its own. The organization usually provides some type of service to its members aside from providing a forum for communication.

The difference between the two (albeit very small) is that .net is merely an umbrella for its function where .org represents itself. Many .nets become .org once the the network grows into a more formalized organization. An example would be the difference between chevyhhr.net and idealist.org.

To be honest, it doesn't matter that much; it really boils down to what's easiest to remember in the context of your site. Sorry for any disruption to your post; Monday morning before coffee...I can be a little anal

Thanks for the input. I am hoping that we will be more than just an online community and set up local chapters for meetings and maybe do statewide events etc....

It doesn't really matter, its just that .org was the first thing that came to mind. You would probably get 10 different answers from 10 different people as to what the right one should be.

Thanks again, oh, and no more posting before coffee

Very true. It really doesn't matter and I feel like a snob for even commenting on it.

Im not an RI native...just moved here in August. Originally from Gary, Indiana and spend some time in the nations capital before getting married and moving here.

No worries Teech. Its nice to see somebody who cares enough to even make a comment.

Funny, I used to live in RI and am now here in Ohio and you went the other way. At least the country is still balanced.

Take care and comment anytime!
