airaid or k&n for 2.4l

Found some good offers on air intakes at 4 wheel online so I'm thinking of buying one though I can't decide between the K&N and Airaid. Does anyone have real experience with these intakes? Which one is better and why? I'm not expecting huge improvement but I want something that can help boost the performance of my ride. Thanks for any input.

I had a K&N installed for a short time. It sounded good but wreaked havoc on my system and threw codes. I noticed a little bit of difference but that could have just been my imagination. I also ran a CGS system for a week or two...same thing except this time I didn't get any codes. I had an Airaid on my Dodge Magnum and loved it! If I do another intake I'll probably go that route.

airaids are louder and usually work better on 2.4s
you would get more out of a tune than a intake for $200+
other than the lousy design on our intakes they arent that bad. a K&N filter would work great for $50

I have an Airaid on my 2.2. I like it. I put a Pre-filter on it and it really reduced the noise.
