California Car Duster

So, I was at Walmart yesterday in the Automotive department and I was going to buy some micro-fiber towels and black-tire spray. I saw this "California Car Duster" and it seemed like an interesting idea to me. It seems that a lot of times when I wash my car, it's not really "dirty", it's just "dusty" from dust/dirt on the road. So I bought it and tried it out yesterday. My car was medium-dusty, but not really dirty at all. It worked excellent! It actually seemed to "polish" as you use it to dust your car. When I was done, it looked like I had just gotten back from the car wash, except 10 minutes ago, I probably would've taken it to the car wash. It looked like I was ready to take it to a car show or something like that. It seems like if a person kept up with the dusting, they wouldn't even have to "wash" it at the car wash. I live in Wisconsin, so this will work great in the spring/summer/fall, but in the winter, I'll still probably have to take it to the car wash. It never claimed to remove road salt from your car. But, it still is a great idea, and I have a feeling I'm going to be using it a lot. Does anyone else here use a California Car Duster?

Ditto from all of the above. Stays in the back of the car at all times. They seems to work better the dirtier they get, going on 10 yrs. Works great with pollen and summer dust. Cali duster, a small towel and a bottle of quick detailer and you'll be able to keep it clean for weeks without washing.

I didn't realize so many people here use a California Duster. It seems so easy, keep up with it, and you shouldn't have to wash your car for a long time. And the price wasn't too bad either, it was only about $12.

Exactly SmoothHHR !!!

They are amazing little dusters. I bought a small one for the interior and for the home. Works great dusting the home entertainment system.

Being a detailer these things come in very handy! Especially at this time of year. By the time I'm done washing a car there is always a layer of pollen on it. Just a light dusting with this and it's good as new.

Just as a precaution, don't actually put the weight of the duster on the car. It can cause swirls. Just left the duster threads touch the paint and drag across. This is the best way to use them without instilling swirls into the paint.

This is why I don't use them, I am anal about my swirl marks. I foam my car each time I wash to get all the loose crap off.
