Carbon Fiber HOOD!
Carbon Fiber HOOD!
I am working on getting Extreme Dimensions to create a Carbon fiber hood for our lovely HHR SS. Would anyone be interested in this so they create it? Please post here if you'd be interested! Thanks

What most people dont know about CF....in short..it should be painted..or it will break down, thats alot of CF for a whole hood, and alot of exposure.

The carbon fiber hood for the Cobalt is 900

but if it looked this awesome I would pay a grand but the shape and size of the HHR hood I would imagine the price to be closer to 1500.
Edit-Yes interested. Have cash will pay.

The real problem is with companies using inferior clearcoats, as many people can attest to Extreme Dimensions using, along with many other lower tier manufacturers
When they see the yellowing, they think it's the CF because it wasn't painted, but in reality it's just the cheap clear that the CF was top-coated with
Look at the new Vettes, Lambos, Audis and Ferraris. You think the CF on their cars degrade?
The only REAL company that I know of, that makes as good a product, or better than the OEMs is Anvil Auto and they aren't about to make parts for our cars
That's not really an issue with CF car parts, because the all come clearcoated. That is the reason that a lot of higher end OEMs can use it on their cars

Clear coats are an issue but an even bigger issue with supposed top companies like VIS and Seibon is the failure to get the aftermarket hoods to oem specs. I've seen many nice rides with over-gaped hoods from these and other companies. I think carbon fiber has been mostly played out but if a company comes along and makes a CF hood for the HHR of good quality I would give it a try.
