I agree with what greybeard said... The tail lights should have come with the chrome trim if it had the package from the factory. That's the only chrome I've added to mine. Personally some of the other can be a bit much. I do like the fog light trim, but I think I have enough. Like I said, it looks good if you have the chrome package, and wheels...that's why I put the rings on mine. But a little too much chrome looks like overkill.

Our motto is "We are a No-Chrome Family" ! That said we checked the majority vote of "Looks Nice if Done Right" .....

The only chrome on our's is lug nuts and miscellaneous interior chrome trim in which for our look we wanted it to look as plain as possible .....

My overall take on to chrome or not is it is up to the individual owner but knowing that any modded HHR is done by someone who enjoys there HHR .

Peace .....

To clarify, I don't have the chrome anymore. But I used to... I liked it while I had it, but it won't hold up with the salty roads. My car used to have headlight chrome, wheel well chrome, and tail light chrome. But I lost the tail light chrome when I got IPCW tail lights, and the chrome rings will not fit over the IPCW tail lights. I lost one of the head light rings during the accident, so I had to take off the other one too. I just ripped off the wheel well trim the other day because it was starting to look like crap from all the salt. So my car no longer has any "extra" chrome on it, but it used to. I like the "clean" look just as much, so I intend to leave the chrome off.

I agree with you guys saying it can be overdone. The other day I saw an Orange 2LT with headlight chrome, tail light chrome, wheel well chrome, chrome in the door handles, on all the side marker lights, chrome on the "tits", chrome on the edge of each door, chrome outlining the windows, etc.. Let's just say it had chrome on every spot a person could put chrome on. I even thought it looked gaudy. Too much chrome to be on one car.

Personally, I don't care for the headlight chrome, so I think it's good you took it off. I like the tail light, but when you have the IPCW lights, it would look odd I think.

Chrome wheels are always in, but chrome trim should be done in moderation.

Thumbs up Chrome Me

I too enjoy a bit of chrome here and there. I agree it can be overdone. I live in a snowy region and for that reason I probably won't put much stick on chrome on my HHR. I have bought the ABS plastic taillight rings, but I'm waiting for a nice warm day to install them so I can clean and shine the whole vehicle. I might also consider the headlight trim and maybe a few goodies under the hood. That will probably do it for me. I agree with some of the other folks here though that it's your choice since it's your ride. Thanks for listening to me rambling on incoherintley
