Fog light module removal

After checking with my dealer and finding out that purchasing fog lights for my 2007 HHR LT would set me back about $237.00+tax PER module ("you need a right one and a left one") plus the wiring and switch ($39.00+tax) and talking with the people at a local custom truck shop ("we do do any soldering in any electrical work") I've decided to do it myself with the help of the very well illustrated postings from here. I'm considering checking with the local "You pull it" junk yards to possibly obtain the fog light modules themselves and possibly the OEM dash switch. What I need info about is what is involved in removing the existing plug panel and/or the fog light module from the front bumper. I have learned that there is no specialized mounting bracket for the fog light modules, but that they have the mounting mechanism (tabs and slots) molded into their housings (which may explain why they cost so much). But the parts guy didn't know how to get them into or out of the vehicle.

Ok it looks very seriously like my dealer's parts department is trying to rip me off on these parts... I will be stopping by there today and speaking with their management! grrrrrrrrr

To get back to my original question, how are the hole trim plugs and/or fog light modules removed? Are there any tabs I need to press or be careful not to break off? If I luck out and find a set at a junk yard, I don't want to damage them in removing them from the vehicle...
