searching the forum i came across this post of custom aftermarkets - look pretty cool, ebay seller doesn't seem to have that exact style with the yellow running light bar feature, but still about $150 a pair (must provide your own main headlamp bulbs) https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/mods...emblies-66630/
current offering version https://www.ebay.com/itm/364907670394
but assuming i want to keep it simple, what brands don't suck since oem nib is not an option anymore. Dorman? Eagle Eyes? eagles have mixed reviews, are the bargain basement option. Another i came across is Gold Shrine that seemed to get kudos.

I notice some brands claim they fit 06-11 and some (like depo) leave 06 out. Rockauto depo doesnt show up for 06? Is there something dofferent about the tabs or fit on 06 compared to all the other years? I am wanting to replace my 06 lights as they are not good
I believe Depot is an OEM supplier and everything I’ve seen from them is CAPA approved.
I too have B2E like Oldblue does, and the quality is excellent. They have a darker “black chrome” bezel which you may not notice at first glance. The clear turn signal lens is clear, so you use them with an amber bulb, which to the best of my recollection was furnished. They were only used on one or two “special edition” trims, and can be hard to find. Some in the community believe they’re no longer available. I had to get the left and the right from two different sources, a couple years ago.
For anyone seeking B2E, be careful, as plain vanilla assemblies are available everywhere, CAPA tagged and not. There is much deceptive marketing with many vendors describing them as “Not B2E” (Illegal search manipulation on eBay) or even falsely “B2E.”
More caution, it seems there is a large batch of defective assemblies out there. They sell in pairs, cheap, and the driver side has a defective adjuster. It’s a snap-fit assembly, and it seems they were never properly assembled. I was burned, twice. I was unable to fix it, because the problem is inside.
There are some not-expensive rad units out there that come without the headlight bulb and can use the standard halogens but also feature a led strip and turn signal. Buyers seem to be satisfied. I have no idea if they work differently on a 2006, or if they work properly at all.

I ordered mine for the 2007 spring edition B2E RPO code, not really rare but hard to find , I ordered from a body shop supplier here in London, Ontario, I’ve seen them from RA as I posted the link, and 1AAuto lists them These are B2E in a 2006 2LT The BlackSwan here has the B2E headlights. I installed white/yellow LED switchback bulbs in the turn signals
i notice on RA that depo is the only one that says CAPA approved and also in their info only brand that mentions has a UV coating to help with fade. good price too, but alas, only have the right side in stock right now.
OLDBLUE - "Only difference is the DRL lights are the signal lights not the headlights." i had to go out and look at both cars to see the difference. they look same to me - both headlights and turn signal lights are on when set to auto. Personally, by default, i always do a down twist upon starting up in the sunshine as i figure those amber lights on the 06 destroyed/melted the plastic housing years ago before i got the car. LEDs would solve that as well I suppose.
Pulp - yes you are right - i've read so many bad reviews about this brand that brand as being junk. you reminded me of the other reason why i don't bother trying to just re-sand the covers once more... the crappy plastic adjustment screws were long stripped as well when i got the car so even if i make them a little clearer, they still are going to be off a little.
