Wheel spacers don't raise anything. They just change your alignment to some unspecified points.

Look at the struts! What is adjustable? You can change the spring to raise and lower the BODY.

Raising the body will not help you cargo hauling. Stiffer springs might; you could try spring spacers but the ride will knock your teeth out.

The HHR is a 1/2 ton capacity truck. I have carried well over that in mine.

Using spring spacers will lift the body but won't change the spring plate height on the strut, you're still curtailed to 26.2 max tire height!

I seem to remember reading that wheel spacers or adapters can put a lot of stress on the hubs, causing them to wear out faster.

He's not gonna listen to any of us no matter what proper advice is given. I'd hate to see what he is going to end up with in the end, if it is drivable that is.

I'm very happy with the way mine is and has been for years!

guys chill... i dont pay for the changes for now my father in law is the bank  he want to try i will not going to stop him, hes money. About the road tan, its more like crossover, but if You compare it to Captivia or others HHR is much more massive (the body looks more massive, and i like it) about tires and wheels. My father in law bought 18" that have holes for two types of attachements so if it will not fit they go to hes BMW3 and i will have new one. SO just like ive said. We will see the outcome, i have the best mecanich in town for the adjusment and a father in law thats crazy about looks. So i like to combine them in one if you know what i mean:nuts:
