What has to be trimmed to fit the SS? Is it easy to do? Thanks!

would one of you guys with mud flaps mind describing how they're mounted? and if possible, some pics would be helpful too. I am ordering some Rally Armor flaps (far too cheap for the OEM ones, and i'm not a big fan of the stiff molded style anyway, can't beat <$20 for their basic ones!), and wanna know how to install them once they get here. thanks!

Another question I have is that I have read a few older posts saying that the wrap around OEM style gm. Flaps tend to rub the paint away any truth to that maybe use 3m clear protective tape first? Or is there a better set.
Up here We get a lot of snow slush sand etc.

They do I only know that because I took them off to paint them. I could not imagine running this car with out the flaps, so it's not a big deal to me . The only reason I can think of not to have a set is , if you are lowering the car and they can't clear the bumps.
