You'll probably just have to screw those on as the factory molded units work mostly with the same attachment plugs that hold on the inner fenders to the outer sheet metal. (with a few additional screws) Go gentle though in tightening those screws, at the back you will be attaching to plastic only.... Inner fender and back bumper cover is all plastic. Also note because of said attachment plugs, a non-molded universal mudflap won't sit flat against the body.

thanks greybeard. i was planning to try to get some nylon crush washers, and some thin metal to make support brackets inside the bumper and inner fender (crush washers so they crush before the plastic). and do you by chance have a picture of these attachment plugs? are they just little bumps made to help positively locate the factory flaps or something like that?

The attachment plugs are what holds the inner fender well to the outer fender, same as the ones you need to pull to change headlight bulbs..... I don't have a photo but if you find some of the threads on the forum about changing the headlight bulbs there would be a photo there.
