New H13 Headlight recommendation

When I first got my HHR, I put a set of silver stars in it, but they burned out after 8 months. I myself like to have a more "white" light than the stock bulbs, but was not a fan of the duration of the silver stars.

I was reading up on Putco Pure's and was wondering if anyone has tried them? Their website states they're long lasting, but every bulb is long lasting according to their manufactor...

Might I inquire, when you install your bulbs, do you make sure you do not contact the bulb with your fingers directly? Our skin, no matter whom we are, has oil on it, and that getting on the bulb, can hamper its life span.. :my

I would love to hear of a good recommendation of a H13 bulb.

Yes, once I did all the prep work and it was time to put the bulbs in, I put on latex gloves and held them by the connectors

Yea, I was actually worried about having the bulb rub up against the wheel well housing so I had a friend hold the housing back while I used two hands to carefully snake the bulb into the headlight housing...who know replacing bulbs would be a two man job?

35,000 miles, just under 3 years, I only had to replace the drivers side. Passanger side is still going strong as an OEM.

For chefhhr....

As mentioned in many other threads (except for the time element, which continues to increase)......

I'm going on about 5 years with my Hellas rated at 4500 K.

I was too lazy to search and I haven't really even thought about switching my bulbs until I saw this thread. I'll check out the Hellas

On Sylvainia's website the silver star ultras are only rated for 250 hours, that is half of their standard H13 bulb. I like the brightness and the light but the bulb life is the only downside. A friend mentioned Phillips Extreme so I may look into those next. It does not seem that htere are many options for the H13 bulb.
