New look for the old ride

Got tired of people asking when I was going to "decorate" the HHR. As a sign guy, I like to keep a low profile contrary to most sign companies. I don't rely on advertising to bring in business, but word of mouth, so it helps to have a low-key vehicle if you're in a territory that has unions. But.. a plain Jane white HHR does scream for something different, so.. bright orange metallic over titanium metallic with matching wheels and running boards. Pinstripe is reflective 3M light blue just because (mainly for winter... small white vehicles tend to disappear in the snow on the road). A few small clear coat "flow indicators" but not too bad for a backyard spray :-)

Looks nice...

I'm not a big fan of the contrasting running boards... Other guys have done that too and like it. To me it looks like mismatched parts waiting to be sprayed. (But that's just me)

Very nice job, very striking without being gaudy.

Looks good, I really like the reflective 3M pinstriping.. Very illuminating.. I like the complete transformation..

Gotta agree with Greybeard about your boards..

I remember spray painting my 1st S-10 in the back yard, BLACK, I put 8 coats on, cause I knew I would have a lot of cut-n-buffing to do afterwords..

My running boards are black and Toughie is factory Sandstone, but so are my roof rails, mirrors and that piece in the back that has the latch and lights. I like the look.
However. I think your boards would look better if painted to match the top half of yours.

I like to keep a low profile contrary too.
But you managed a combination of brightness and modesty.

I like the black running boards. Very nice job with painting. Wish I had that skill set

Thanks guys. Yeah, I wanted the running boards to match the wheels, then have the repeating color somewhere up on the body. It tends to "lower" the look of the car. Sleeper... yep.. haven't cut and buffed yet, not sure I will. I didn't put that many coats of clear on :-)

I like it! It stands out but it's not overdone.
